the content of this performance consisted of a series of drama performances from the level 2 class and then some level 2 music performances and finally level 3 music performance.
i felt that some performers were successful in engaging the audience however others weren't. for example the first drama performances were definitely engaging because they had elements of things such as choral speaking and comedy which definitely engaged the audience. however there were other performances such as a music performance of Justin Bieber's All that matters. where it was clear that they were extremely nervous and then the drumming became off beat for the whole song. the singer forgot the words and after a while it was just awkward to watch.
techniques used by some of the performers to engage the audience were effective such as call and response. this is very effective because the performers are saying the lyrics directly to the audience making the performance a lot more personal to whoever is watching. another technique used to engage the audience were solo's for example in the Beat it performance the lead guitarist had a solo which gave him the opportunity to show his talents to us and it also hyped up the crowd a bit and definitely kept us engaged by captivating us in the music
A standout moment for me was the Beatles come together Cover. i partially enjoyed it because the drummer was exciting and new when to keep things simple and then when to are things a bit more complicated. I also enjoyed the use of a whole band, so a bass player, a guitarist, keyboard player, drummer and vocalists. i felt it was especially a standout moment because the band members were my peers and i hadn't seen many of them play instruments properly so it was great to see them in a professional environment.
My overall impression of the entire event was that i really enjoyed it and that i would also like to perform with my peers so we can showcase our talents and skills. the event had a good encouraging vibe as well and it also has encouraged everyone to collaborate with the people because we had a chance to see what could be achieved.
