music performance review
the content of this performance consisted of a series of drama performances from the level 2 class and then some level 2 music performances and finally level 3 music performance.
i felt that some performers were successful in engaging the audience however others weren't. for example the first drama performances were definitely engaging because they had elements of things such as choral speaking and comedy which definitely engaged the audience. however there were other performances such as a music performance of Justin Bieber's All that matters. where it was clear that they were extremely nervous and then the drumming became off beat for the whole song. the singer forgot the words and after a while it was just awkward to watch.
techniques used by some of the performers to engage the audience were effective such as call and response. this is very effective because the performers are saying the lyrics directly to the audience making the performance a lot more personal to whoever is watching. another technique used to engage the audience were solo's for example in the Beat it performance the lead guitarist had a solo which gave him the opportunity to show his talents to us and it also hyped up the crowd a bit and definitely kept us engaged by captivating us in the music
A standout moment for me was the Beatles come together Cover. i partially enjoyed it because the drummer was exciting and new when to keep things simple and then when to are things a bit more complicated. I also enjoyed the use of a whole band, so a bass player, a guitarist, keyboard player, drummer and vocalists. i felt it was especially a standout moment because the band members were my peers and i hadn't seen many of them play instruments properly so it was great to see them in a professional environment.
My overall impression of the entire event was that i really enjoyed it and that i would also like to perform with my peers so we can showcase our talents and skills. the event had a good encouraging vibe as well and it also has encouraged everyone to collaborate with the people because we had a chance to see what could be achieved.

performing arts performance review
The performance consisted of lots of different performances. it started of with two singing performance's. the first group sang Don't Stop Believin' by Journey. which consisted of girls and boys. the second performance was an all girls singing group who sang American boy by Estelle. afterwards we saw a dance performance including dancers who chose the dance btec certificate option and then we saw a dance piece with just the dancers. finally we saw a collection of performances of some greek tales by the drama class.
I felt the performances were very engaging to the audience. one reason i believe this is because all of the performers were very confident and captivating. this encourages the audience to engage in the performance as it seems more real and believable which makes the overall experience a lot more fun. The lighting and sound also added another layer to the wow factor of the performance which also encourages the audience to engage because it creates a sense of reality throughout and makes each of the overall performances more effective and appealing.
an effective technique that stood out to me that helped engaged the audience took place when i was watching one of the drama performances. a scene was taking place on the stage and they called out for another character. The character then stood up from the audience and delivered her lines. this really impressed me because not only did it involve us as the audience in the performance, but it added another element of surprise to there performance as well. and because there were at least 6 other drama performances before the this happened. it was quite refreshing to see something like this because it does not happen a lot.
A standout moment in this performance for me was when the all girls group sang Estelle's song American boy. the performance included a piano and their vocals. The reason this performance stood out to me was because they used lots of technical aspects and it all worked. the harmonies were in tune, they were confident, they didn't sing too loud for the microphones. they even had parts of the song where some people sang one part and others sang another but it wasn't messy everything was on point. and the solo's were flawless.
overall i quite enjoyed the entire event. you could tell the performers enjoyed the event, and the environment was nice to showcase what ever all been working on over this time. it was also good to include the lighting and sound and technical side of the performance's because everything seemed more professional with that.

audience survey analysis
from the data provided to me from the audience survey. my target audience would be people who listen to hip hop music as it was the most popular genre surveyed as opposed to disco which was one of the least popular genre's surveyed. the majority of my target audience also often listen to music for about 2-5 hours a day and listen to it everywhere. the main way people search for new music is on youtube and the majority of my audience do not buy music either. however they do attend live music events every few months including club sets, festivals and live gigs. the main factor influencing them to attend a gig is wether their friends are or are not attending also.

Skills Audit
My musical skills are:
that i have some experience in singing which aids in when i try to find harmonies when composing music, also
i have a good ear and can pick tracks apart to locate certain features and instruments. i have quite an intermediate-advanced knowledge of how to effectively use logic Pro and i practice everyday which allows me to become better. in terms of creating music in other genre's i am not as comfortable in i feel that i can still produce some good compositions of music. i am happy to collaborate with other artists in order to create new concepts and take my music into different types of places, in order to define myself as an artist. i also play the piano and drums
My student skills:

I'm also good at researching and analysing. i feel like these are my strongpoints, rather than reviewing

How were The Beatles innovitve
music video
Although early jazz artists created short music-film performances of their songs, and Elvis filmed unique settings of his songs that were parts of movies, the Beatles were the pioneers of marrying the two ideas into the concept we now know as the music video – a short, stand-alone film of a musical act presenting a current song that may or not be a live performance. The idea came to the Beatles as a way to ease their ridiculously tight schedule – instead of the band having to make tons of public appearances on TV shows around the world, they could send a video of themselves instead. The first dedicated music video was for the single “Paperback Writer/Rain” in 1966
